About
The Del Rio Association of Federal Attorneys (DRAFA), is a non-profit corporation that was formed in 2010 for the exclusive operation of charitable, educational, scientific, literary, and preventing cruelty to children or animals. One of our biggest charitable activities is the awarding of scholarships to local High School students who are selected after careful evaluation of their achievements and legal essays submitted.
DRAFA is open to any person who is eligible for and maintains active membership in the State Bar of Texas or the Bar of any other State, Territory, Country, Province or Prefecture and who is employed, resides in or practices in the Del Rio Division of the Western District of Texas is qualified to be a member of the Association, provided the person pays applicable membership dues. All federal judges, including federal magistrate judges, who preside over a case or cases in the Del Rio Division of the Western District of Texas qualify for honorary membership and are exempt from payment of membership dues ($150.00). The Criminal Justice Act Panel Representative for the Western District of Texas qualifies for honorary membership and is exempt from payment of the membership dues.
Our current year runs from June 1st, 2025, to May 31st, 2026, offering monthly luncheon/CLE meetings to our members who receive credit.

Our Mission
DRAFA aims to foster honor and courtesy in the legal profession, the improvement of relations among the judiciary, legal profession and the community. For our members, our main aim is to promote advocacy, networking, opportunities for leadership and learning to make an impact on the growth of our local federal legal community.
